Iolani Barracks, Honolulu
The Iolani Barracks true once the headquarters of the Royal Guard of Hawaii. The barracks was built in 1860, led by the German architect Theodore C. Heuck, who is also the Queen's Medical Center and the Royal Mausoleum of Hawaii planned. European influences are reflected in the building. The facade, however, was built with coral stones.
In 1873, there was a bloodless revolt of the bodyguard in the Iolani Barracks. When the monarchy was abolished in 1893, the barracks of the Hawaiian National Guard was used. The building is not the way to its original place: It had the Hawaii State Capitol
soft and now serves as a visitor center for the Iolani Palace.
