Poipu Beach
Kauai is the greenest of the four main islands of Hawaii. It has a rich and fertile landscape everywhere we look, with some amazing cliffs on the northwest side. Like all islands in this part of the planet, it offers stunning beaches north and south of the coastline. One of these is the paradise beaches of Poipu Beach, which is considered by many as one of the best beaches in the world. Although this is one beach, it really is a series of three different stretches of white sand along crystal clear waters on the southern coast.
Poipu Beach is just 30 minutes from Lihue Airport, and extends for about 5
There are three distinct parts of Poipu Beach. In the east the water is shallow where we can splash and play with the children. Farther west, the waters are ideal for people who can not swim very well because even though the waters are deeper, are very quiet and the waves are slow and calm. Here we can see many people having fun with inflatable floats and deck into the water. To the west of the beach, we found the best part for diving and snorkeling. There are some colorful coral and a variety of fish that leave us impressed.
Provides excellent typical beach activities such as swimming, diving or doing surf. The beach is protected along its route by palm trees that we can shelter in the hottest days. It is a perfect destination for people seeking tranquility especially either alone or with family or friends. In most of the beach, the waters are calm and we have no problems with treacherous rip currents or tides, so we can enjoy swimming without problems. In the park at Poipu Beach, find areas where water is shallow, making it ideal if we go with young children. In the area of the park, we have the option of hiking in the area and spend the day.
Poipu Beach is by itself a source of captives, although the area of Kauai has many other options for travelers in search of other activities apart from spending the day at the beach. There are several golf courses to practice our skills with the sticks, or if you wish, you can tour the island riding a horse. Anyway, the summer is very hot so the best times to go are from November to April. If what you like is to see rain, the best dates are from May to October.
