Diving at the Lahaina pier

 

The Lahaina Pier (also: Mala Old Pier) was during a storm in the nineties severely damaged and not subsequently repaired. Therefore, various sea creatures the old pier has discovered it as a habitat.

Now it is found in the area around the Old Mala Pier to various fish and coral species and marine turtles frequently. The inter-sting area is located north of the intact part of the Lahaina pier. The remaining, undamaged part should be avoided during a diving trip, however, as visibility is restricted and some lurking danger. (more...)
