Imiloa: Astronomy Center of Hawaii

 

The Astronomy Center of Hawaii, Hilo, presents the history of the volcano Mauna Kea, where there are a huge observatory and most powerful telescopes in the world. There is an entrance to the exhibition on astronomy and the history of the Hawaiian culture.

The planetarium presents on a regular basis a film about a specific topic. He is currently the poster is entitled: MAUNAKEA: Between Earth and Sky, lasting 22 minutes. The dome of the planetarium uses an audio-video system with 6 projectors and high sound quality for a dramatic effect. (more...)

Punahou, Iolani top LEGO robotics competition

 

The FIRST LEGO League 2009 season drew to a close today with an intense competition for the 2009 "Smart Move" Hawai'i State Championship Challenge. At the Neil S. Blaisdell Arena, 48 teams of students Demonstrated their problem-solving skills, creative thinking, teamwork, competitive play, sportsmanship and sense of community. (more...)
