Most tour companies offer some version of the following standard Oahu tours listed below:
Circle Island Tour. There are several variations on this theme. Choose a tour package that comes the closest to matching your desires. Some of these all-day tours include lunch. Transport is either bus or minibus, the latter being slightly more expensive. COST: $45-$65.
Little Circle Tour. These half-day tours cover the territory on the east side of Oahu. Most are the same, no matter which company you choose. COST: $25-$40.
Pearl Harbor and City. This comprehensive tour includes the boat tour to Pearl Harbor run by the National Park Service. COST: $25-$40.
Polynesian Cultural Center. One of the advantages of the tour is that you don't have to drive yourself back to Waikiki after dark if you take in the evening show. COST: $55-$175.
Sea Tours
Dream Cruises. Dream Cruises offers tours of Pearl Harbor aboard the 100-ft motor yacht American Dream. The trip takes place in the early morning to coincide with the time that Pearl Harbor was attacked on December 7, 1941. It includes a stop near the U.S.S. Tradewind Charters. This is a good bet for half-day private charter tours for sailing, snorkeling, and whale-watching. These luxury yachts not only eliminate crowds, but guests also have the opportunity to "take the helm" if they wish. The cruise also features snorkeling at an exclusive anchorage. Underwater Tours
Atlantis Submarines. This company operates two vessels off Waikiki: a 65-ft, 80-ton sub carrying up to 48 passengers and a newer 102-ft, 64-passenger craft. Rides are popular with children; a trip includes a catamaran ride to the dive site, providing great views of the Waikiki-hour tour is sponsored by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Historic Downtown Walking Tour. Volunteers from the Mission Houses Museum (553 S. King St.) take you on a two-hour walk through Honolulu, where historic sites stand side by side with modern business towers. During the first hour, you get a tour of the Mission Houses themselves. Honolulu Time Walks. History springs to life for young and old alike during these fun jaunts, which come with appropriately costumed narrators.
