THE CITY – HAWAII

Honolulu is the capital and most populous state of Hawaii, U.S., and is located on the southeast coast of the island of Oahu, in Hawaii, Honolulu means sheltered bay or place of shelter.

In Honolulu, we recommend you visit the Waikiki Aquarium, which gives an idea of the flora and fauna of Hawaii, the Iolani Palace, the only royal palace located in the territory of the United States, the Bishop Museum, no doubt the best museum of Hawaiian culture, Beretania Street, among other attractions.

The Hawaiian Islands are located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, about 4000 km southwest of California. You can only get there by plane or

boat. Together, the six major islands are Oahu, Maui, The Big Island of Hawaii, Kauai, Molokai and Lanai. Each island is unique and can be found several active volcanoes, streams of lava, tropical forests, beautiful beaches, sugar cane fields, pineapple plantations and historical sites. These tropical paradise each year attract nearly 7 million tourists, although most of them only visit one or two islands.

You can travel very easily from one island to another using one of two local airlines: Aloha or Hawaiian Flights, which leave regularly and are relatively inexpensive. When you land at each airport, make sure to check the racks of free booklets containing discount coupons. Each island offers a coupon book with a variety of discounts.

The weather is consistently enjoys. Temperatures rarely drop below 18 degrees Celsius (65 degrees Farenhaeit) or up to over 28 (80) over the year. The day is often a nice cool breeze. But do not forget to bring along your sunscreen! In such pleasant conditions can very easily forget that the tropical sun can cause severe burns to people who are not accustomed to being exposed to it. The rainfall varies according to location but can occur almost daily in tropical forests.

Visitors are warmly welcomed and quickly are involved in the Aloha spirit of Hawaii. Life is very informal in the islands and the dress is casual. Bring a variety of casual clothes for warmth and, of course, do not forget your swimsuit! Children who visit the islands generally acquire and use T-shirts bearing the word "Aloha" made with brightly colored fabrics. The girls usually buy colorful muumuus (very comfortable loose clothing that can be used anywhere in Hawaii).

Despite the remoteness of the destination, have already been several students who have reserved the MINER English course with us in previous years, probably because of their exoticism and total lack of Spanish on the islands of Hawaii.
