Waikiki at night
While staying in Waikiki, one should not go directly after dinner to the hotel. Even at night, the city district of the capital of Hawaii has to offer.
Along Kalakaua Avenue, which runs just behind Waikiki Beach, there are restaurants, bars and chic shops. The shops range from swimwear, to exclusive boutiques, leading brands such as Gucci or Hermes. Numerous restaurant chains such as Hard Rock
Cafe, Planet Hollywood and Cheesecake Factory have opened a branch in Honolulu.
Many street musicians provide a lively atmosphere along Kalakaua Avenue, hoping for one or two dollars from tourists. The International Market Place is also in this street and offers about 130 stalls and shops at many souvenirs.
